Call me Ying! I’m currently a UI/UX Designer for the INclusive Studio for Innovative Technology and Education, or the INsite Lab.
I’m also a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, holding a B.S. in Informatics with concentration in Human-Computer Interaction and a minor in Digital Arts.
The intersection of art and technology has always been fascinating to me. While the advancements of tech have allowed for exciting new discoveries and done much to make increased accessibility possible, the novelty and buzz surrounding them greatly drown out the suffering of people neglected in the development process.
Having grown up in the United States as a member of multiple marginalized communities, I know firsthand the importance of nuance and inclusion. My familiarity with specialized issues and my desire to better understand others drive me to continually learn about and work towards creating more inviting, informed, and progressive projects. In the process of designing, researching, and developing, I aim to make sure nobody gets left behind as technology moves forward.
While I'm not thinking about font styling and wire-framing, I enjoy baking, perfecting and learning new fibercrafts, and saving Hyrule!
